Black History Month.

The goal of this assignment was to create posters for the African Exhibition contest that students participated in and the winner was chosen to have their artwork shown in an exhibition. It was focused in four phases. I decided to elaborate on the symbols, expand meaning, and create imagery that express and represent a story that is told from a cultural perspective.

FINAL EXPLORATIONS

For this section I chose to focus on the textiles and symbols, and how each has their own meaning. Textiles tell a story and the symbols represents deities and are a connection to the earth and their ancestors.

For this section I chose to focus on the typography, as well as symbols that represent strength in a leader. An example for a movement, the mask plays a big role in their identity.
